92 suspects arrested, 95 unregistered mobile SIM cards seized

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi region police during the search operation on Friday arrested 92 suspected people and seized 95 unregistered mobile SIM cards from their possession.
The spokesman for police said the law-enforcement agencies checked 422 houses and 1,015 people including Afghan nationals.
He said the police arrested two people and seized 95 unregistered mobile SIM cards from their possession. The high-ups have strictly directed the police to keep a close eye on suspected people, he said.
Meanwhile, the city police arrested 90 people during the search operation launched under the supervision of SP CIA in Siham, Mohallah Zamindaran, Mohallah Kashmirian and Dhoke Mustaqeem in the limits of Westridge Police Station.
The spokesman for the city police said they checked people living in rented houses. He said the police checked 360 houses and 875 people and arrested 95 suspicious people.
The official said most of the arrested persons included those wandering in the city aimlessly and failed to produce their identity documents.
Five robbers held: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police have arrested five people for their alleged involvement in mobile phones, cash and other valuables snatching at gunpoint.
The police spokesman said on Friday that Bhara Kahu police arrested two people involved in robberies and seized pistols along with ten rounds, mobile phone, cash and registration book from their possession.
The alleged robbers were identified as Gul Zeb son of Gulzar and Kamran Arif alias Kali son of Raja Habib residents of Bhara Kahu, Islamabad. They were allegedly involved in snatching valuables from Yasir Farooq son of Muhammad Farooq from Shahdra picnic point. They also confessed four robberies in other areas.
Zahoor, resident of Bhara Kahu was arrested for his alleged involvement in theft and two stolen mobile phones were seized from his possession. Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Muhammad Imtiaz seized a 30-bore pistol, four rounds and a dagger from Zeeshan and Ameen Khan.
Kohsar police arrested Haq Nisar and Ehsan for their alleged involvement in cutting forest wood owned by the state. The police seized Rs 3,00,000 wood from their possession. They were shifting this wood in a vehicle CH-1393. On information provided by them police are raiding to arrest their two other accomplices.
